Throughout history, the Zimbabwe national soccer team is made up of talented players from all over the country. Some of the most talented players on the national team include Knowledge Musona, Marvelous Nakamba, Khama Billiat, Marshall Munetsi, Tino Kadewere, and Talent Chawapiwa. Other talented players include Teenage Hadebe, Tendayi Darikwa, Ovidy Karuru, Kudakwashe Mahachi, and Prince Dube. Despite the current crop being so promising, here is the greatest top 5 since the dream team.

1. Peter Ndlovu

Peter Ndlovu is considered by many to be the greatest Zimbabwean footballer of all time. Born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, in 1972, Ndlovu made his senior debut with Highlanders F.C. in 1988 at the age of 16. He quickly established himself as one of the best players in the country, and soon earned a move to Europe with Swiss side Grasshopper Club Zurich in 1991. Ndlovu went on to have a very successful career in Europe, playing for a range of clubs including Coventry City, Birmingham City, Sheffield United and Huddersfield Town. He was also capped 100 times by Zimbabwe, scoring 38 goals for his country. In 2003, he was named the African Player of the Year. Ndlovu retired in 2011, having established himself as one of the greatest players in African football history. He is remembered fondly by Zimbabweans and football fans across the world.

2. Benjani Mwaruwari

Benjani Mwaruwari is considered by many to be the secondgreatest Zimbabwean footballer of all time. Born in Harare in 1978, he began his career with Zimbabwean side CAPS United. He then moved to South Africa and joined Mamelodi Sundowns, before moving to Europe with French side Auxerre in 2004. Mwaruwari went on to have a very successful career in Europe, playing for Portsmouth, Manchester City, Blackburn Rovers, Sunderland and AEK Athens. He was also capped 80 times by Zimbabwe, scoring 25 goals for his country. In 2008, he was nominated for the African Footballer of the Year award. Mwaruwari retired in 2016, having established himself as one of the greatest players of his generation. He is remembered fondly by Zimbabweans and football fans across the world.

3. Bruce Grobbelaar

Bruce Grobbelaar is one of the most iconic footballers to have ever come out of Zimbabwe. Born in Durban, South Africa, in 1957, Grobbelaar began his career with Durban City F.C. before moving to England with Liverpool F.C. in 1981. Grobbelaar went on to have an incredibly successful career with Liverpool, winning six league titles, three FA Cups, three League Cups and one European Cup with the club. He was also capped 61 times by Zimbabwe, and was named the African Footballer of the Year in 1983. Grobbelaar retired in 1999, having established himself as one of the greatest goalkeepers of his generation. He is remembered fondly by Zimbabweans and football fans across the world.

4. Adam Ndlovu

Adam Ndlovu is the brother of the legendary Peter Ndlovu, and is considered by many to be the thirdgreatest Zimbabwean footballer of all time. Born in Bulawayo in 1974, he made his senior debut with Highlanders F.C. in 1991. Adam Ndlovu went on to have a very successful career in Europe, playing for Coventry City, Birmingham City, Sheffield United and Huddersfield Town. He was also capped 71 times by Zimbabwe, scoring an impressive 22 goals for his country. In 2000, he was named the African Player of the Year. Adam Ndlovu retired in 2006, having established himself as one of the greatest players of his generation. He is remembered fondly by Zimbabweans and football fans across the world.

5. Agent Sawu

Agent Sawu is considered by many to be the seventhgreatest Zimbabwean footballer of all time. Born in Bulawayo in 1964, he made his senior debut with Highlanders F.C. in 1982. Sawu went on to have a very successful career in Europe, playing for Belgian side KV Mechelen, Dutch side FC Den Bosch, Spanish side Real Zaragoza and English side Portsmouth. He was also capped 40 times by Zimbabwe, scoring five goals for his country. In 1987, he was named the African Player of the Year. Sawu retired in 1996, having established himself as one of the greatest players of his generation. He is remembered fondly by Zimbabweans and football fans across the world.

Thomas Sweswe is considered by many to be the ninthgreatest Zimbabwean footballer of all time. Born in Bulawayo in 1982, he made his senior debut with Highlanders F.C. in 2000. Sweswe went on to have a very successful career in Europe, playing for South African side Kaizer Chiefs, English side Bolton Wanderers and Swedish side Kalmar FF. He was also capped 44 times by Zimbabwe, scoring four goals for his country. In 2006, he was named the African Player of the Year. Sweswe retired in 2013, having established himself as one of the greatest players of his generation. He is remembered fondly by Zimbabweans.
